Kudrin considers it appropriate democratic change of head of the ARB
Former Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation, head of the Council of the Foundation “Center for strategic research” (CSR) Alexey Kudrin has declared that considers it expedient to change the head of the Association of Russian banks (ARB), in a democratic way, and that it was already time to change.
“I think that, of course, it would be better if the result of this democratic re-election within the Association (ARB – ed.) would be replaced by the head. I think it was time head to change, therefore, on the one hand, to me this conflict is clear. It is a pity that this has led to the withdrawal from the Association, the loss of the old highly respected Association such opportunities,” he told reporters.
“But very sad need. The creation of new associations also, I think, would be a good move. Another thing is that this new Association will be primarily large banks with large participation of the state or near-state banks. Here it can be a disadvantage of this new Association. But I hope with time this disadvantage is also exhausted, when to enter the other banks,” – said Kudrin.
“I see certain conflicts of interest between large and medium-sized banks. They have slightly different interests and different relations with the Central Bank. But, again, it is normal that different groups of banks has found its niche, or its form of organization the protection of his interests. I normally refer to this process, because the Association is a voluntary Union,” he said, also noting: “But will the three associations is fine.”
