CBR: Net capital outflow from Russia in January increased by 2.3 times
Net capital outflow from Russia in January 2018 increased by 2.3 times compared with the same period last year and amounted to $ 7.1 billion, according to preliminary data of the Central Bank.Net capital outflow from Russia in 2017 rose 1.6%, to $31.3 billion
“Net capital outflow by the private sector in January 2018, according to the Bank of Russia amounted to $ 7.1 billion ($3.1 billion in January 2017) and was associated mainly with the growth in foreign assets of banks and other sectors”, – stated in the message.
According to the regulator, the net outflow of capital from Russia in 2017 rose 1.6%, to 31.3 billion.
In December last year, the head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina said that the Central Bank has raised its estimate of net capital outflows in 2018 to $ 16 billion from $ 10 billion.
